Frida, Gucci and Il Gattopardo

Grace, beauty and intelligence, Frida Giannini, the soul of the Gucci brand, projects all these qualities and many more besides, epitomising a new ideal feminine profile for the 21st Century. As splendid as ever, the designer walked the red carpet in Cannes in one of her ‘Maison’s elegant couture dresses. The occasion being the premiere of the restored version of “Il Gattopardo” originally screened at the Festival of Cannes in 1963 where it walked off with the Palme d’Oro. With Gucci’s support, the film was subjected to an extensive 4K digital restoration at the Sony’s Colorworks Digital Facility thanks to a partnership between Cineteca of Bologna, L'Immagine Ritrovata, The Film Foundation, Pathé, Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé, Twentieth Century Fox and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-Cineteca Nazionale.
